BC’s River Forecast Centre has issued a high streamflow advisory for several rivers in anticipation of rain throughout the Peace Region.

The centre says the high streamflow advisories cover Hudson’s Hope, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, and surrounding areas due to expected rainfall.

It says the rain expected through the weekend will cause rivers to rapidly rise.

No major flooding is expected however minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
