Northern Health has confirmed 16 new cases of measles in Northeast BC, with 8 cases currently active.
The BC Centre for Disease Control said it brings the total of cases to 159 in the Northern health region.
The BC CDC added that two more cases were confirmed in the Fraser Health region, bringing the provincial total to 215.
Health officials noted that 189 cases involved people who were not vaccinated against the virus.
