What had been a period of relative calm lately in Dawson Creek, has been shattered by gunfire over the weekend.
A witness tells CJDC TV News, they were out for a walk on Saturday evening, when they heard a gunshot and saw smoke from a weapon.
Two cars were parked in the driveway of a house in the 900 block of 91 A Avenue, when a shot was fired into one of the vehicles.
Both cars sped off, but broken glass could still be seen on the driveway. So far, there are no reports of any injuries.
The house is known to police. Neighbours said the people living at the residence are renters and that vehicles come and go at all hours of the night.
On Sunday afternoon, police were securing the property until they could get a search warrant. There is no word on who may have been involved in the shooting.
The last report of shots fired in Dawson Creek was in January.
