Firefighters with the BC Wildfire Service are battling an out-of-control wildfire, northeast of Fort St John.
The Goodlow wildfire was discovered on Wednesday. The fire was 70 hectares in size at noon on Thursday but has exploded to 1,686 hectares since. The blaze is thought to be caused by lightning.
The wildfire service said the fire is displaying Rank 3 fire behaviour with pockets of the blaze at Rank 4. A helicopter is dousing the fire from the air while a crew from the wildfire service is on the ground.
