Residents in Fort St. John are organizing a vigil in honor of the late American conservative speaker and influencer Charlie Kirk.

A social media post invites residents to pay their respects and remember Kirk at Centennial Park. The event takes place on Friday, at 7 pm.

The post suggests bringing battery-powered candles or lights due to the fire ban currently in place. It has been liked by 217 people and counting.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10 while speaking with students at Utah Valley University.

U.S. authorities arrested Tyler Robinson, the suspect, on September 13, and he has since been charged with aggravated murder.
