Fort St. John ready to host the 2025 Canada Day celebrations

Canada Day is just a few days away. The city of Fort St. John released all the important information for this year’s July 1st celebrations.

Most of the festivities are taking place in Centennial Park. The event includes an on-stage ceremony, local Indigenous drumming, lots of food vendors, the farmers’ market, the classic car cruisers show, live music, Peace Country Rentals’ zone, and much more. All the activities at Centennial Park will start at 11 in the morning.

The day really starts at 8:30, with the Fort St. John Fire Department hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the Fire Hall.

Later, the city is hosting the annual Canada day parade starting at 11. The parade will start at 108 Avenue and 98 Street. It will travel down 100 Street all the way down to the old Fort Motors Parking Lot Area.

The city encourages people to walk or bike to the celebrations, as it will be hard to drive through the area.

Accessible parking will be available at the North Peace Leisure Pool with access from 96 Avenue.

This year’s event won’t feature fireworks because of regional fire bans. Instead, the city put their focus on helping the community to host more family-friendly activities by offering Canada Day Micro-grants.
