FORT ST. JOHN — Fort St. John RCMP are reminding the public of the rules surrounding the use of ATVs, dirt bikes and side‑by‑side vehicles.

Police say off‑road vehicles must follow provincial regulations, including where and how they are allowed to operate.

Mounties note that these vehicles are generally not permitted on public roads unless they meet specific requirements and are being used in limited, approved circumstances.

RCMP are also emphasizing the importance of safety, reminding riders to wear proper protective gear, follow age restrictions, and ensure vehicles are insured and registered when required.

Police say enforcement will continue as off‑road vehicle use increases, particularly during warmer weather, and are encouraging riders to familiarize themselves with the applicable rules before heading out.
