Fort St. John RCMP BBQ raises over $40,000 in support of Tumbler Ridge families affected by mass shooting

The Fort St. John RCMP are calling a BBQ fundraiser in support of the community of Tumbler Ridge, a huge success.

The event was held on Saturday to raise money for the community and the affected families of the school shooting on February 10th.

Over $30,000.00 was donated by Fort St John residents and businesses at the fundraiser. Fort St. John Mounties say that donations have continued to come in and the current total is now over $40,000.

There was also a large card that was created for Fort St John community members to sign which will be send to Tumbler Ridge along with the financial support.

“I want to thank everyone who stepped up for this fundraiser. The generosity shown by our residents, volunteers, and businesses is truly remarkable,” said Sergeant Jaime Moffat, A/Officer in Charge, Fort St. John RCMP. ”Your support will make a meaningful difference for the Tumbler Ridge community during a tragic time, and we are grateful to serve a region that stands together so strongly.”
