FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - A new playground that has been a decade in the planning officially opened at Surerus Park in Fort St. John on Friday.
The City of Fort St. John enlisted the help of students from nearby schools to help design the playground, giving local children a role in planning the space.
“It is always great to have kids get involved in the planning of the future community,” said Ryan Harvery, communications manager for the City of Fort St. John.
Members of Fort St. John City Council were also in attendance for Friday’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The opening marks the completion of a project that had been in the planning stages for close to a decade.
