FORT ST. JOHN, B.C.- A 30-year-old Fort St. John man is facing multiple charges after RCMP allege he has been linked to a recent increase in commercial break-ins and thefts in the city.
Fort St. John RCMP have investigated four separate incidents between July 22 and August 17, amid what police described as a significant rise in commercial break-ins and thefts over the previous two months.
Police arrested Trevor Olson-Loe on August 17 and brought him before the courts on multiple recommended charges related to the investigations.
The charges include:
- Two counts of robbery
- Fraud
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Break and enter to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Failure to comply with a probation order
“The Fort St John RCMP would like to thank members of the public for promptly reporting these incidents and cooperating with investigators. Our efforts to combat property crime in Fort St John continue, but this arrest was a win for local businesses and their employees,” said Constable Christiaan Dreyer, Media Relations Officer with the Fort St. John RCMP Detachment.
Police have not released additional details about the individual break-ins or the businesses involved. The investigation remains ongoing.
Olson-Loe remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on August 31.
