The Chief of the Fort Nelson First Nation, Archie Harrold, is denying accusations of conflict of interest.

The First Nation has posted a sworn statement by Chief Archie Harrold on social media, addressing concerns and accusations made against him.

Allegations have been made about Harrold’s personal or financial involvement in a number of businesses around the community.

He said he has no ownership, partnership, or financial interest in three companies, including Geoterra Integrated Resources, Archie’s Auto-Wrecking & Towing, and A1 Resources.

“I do not receive any personal or financial gain from work completed by any of these companies for the Nation or Deh Tai entities,” Harrold said.

The Chief said he previously owned Archie’s Auto-Wrecking & Towing, but the business was sold in 2019. He added that the new owner kept the business name.

He said the work of those companies is not influenced, directed, or decided by him in any way.

“I take my responsibility as Chief-Councillor seriously. It is important for me that our community has accurate information and confidence in the integrity of this office,” Harrold stated.

Chief Archie Harrold was elected as Chief-Councillor in 2024.
