A former Grande Prairie peace officer has received a two-year conditional sentence after he pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse materials.
Daniel Emond, 35, was arrested and charged in September 2023 after a months-long investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s Internet Child Exploitation unit.
The Crown withdrew charges of distributing and accessing child sexual abuse materials.
Emond will serve 12 months probation at the end of his sentence.
