The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has rescinded the ‘Evacuation Alert’ for the Sundance Lake Wildfire.
The fire that is burning 13 kilometres east of Chetwynd, was listed as ‘being held’ on Monday. On Wednesday, the BC Wildfire Service listed the fire as ‘under control.’
The fire is burning near Highway 97 and has grown to 60 hectares in size. It was discovered last Wednesday night and is thought to be human caused.
The PRRD is urging the public to check their website for any changes. The regional district said an Evacuation Alert could be re-issued if the wildfire situation changes.
