Emergency officials with the Ministry of Transportation and Transit are still waiting for the landslide near Old Fort to stop moving, before work to repair the road into the community can begin.
The only road in and out of the community of Old Fort has moved over 100 metres, since an Evacuation Order was issued on April 20th.
According to the Peace River Regional District, the slide is still moving anywhere from five to nine millimetres per minute.
A section of Old Fort Road has been destroyed and remains closed to the public, as the landslide is creating “a significant risk-to life and safety,” according to the PRRD.

An Evacuation Alert issued on April 23 also remains in effect for areas, west and north of the current Evacuation Order.
Evacuated residents wishing to continue receiving Emergency Support Services must renew on Wednesday at the Pomeroy Centre in Fort St. John. The Centre is open for 9am to 1pm and then from 5pm to 7pm.
