Emergency Warming Centre to stay open until Sunday in Dawson Creek

With a cold stretch settling in the Peace Region, the City of Dawson Creek is extended its extreme weather response.

The Emergency Warming Centre at the Nawican Friendship Centre will remain open until at least March 15th.

The centre is located at 1401 102 Avenue and will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The shelter is activated when the forecast shows -10°C or colder for more than 24 hours.

Temperatures are expected to reach lows of –20 °C for the next three days. However, windchill values will make it feel closer to –25°C .
