Emergency Warming Centre to stay open until Friday in Dawson Creek

With a cold stretch continuing in the Peace Region, the City of Dawson Creek is extended its extreme weather response.

The Emergency Warming Centre at the Nawican Friendship Centre will remain open until at least March 27th.

The centre is located at 1401 102 Avenue and will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The shelter is activated when the forecast shows -10°C or colder for more than 24 hours.

Temperatures are expected to reach lows of –19 °C on Friday and -16°C on Saturday and Sunday. Wind chills are expected to be in the minus twenties.
