For the second time in less than a week, the emergency department at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital is on diversion due to ‘staffing challenges.’
The service interruption began at noon on Saturday and is expected to last until 10:00 pm, as announced by Northern Health via social media.
In a notice to residents, Northern Health says that partners in patient transfer and local health services have been notified, and signage will be placed at the hospital.
Patients in need of life-threatening emergency care are advised to call 9-1-1 to be transported to the nearest available hospital in Fort St. John or the nearest available hospital.
