Northern Health has announced a fourth emergency department diversion at the Chetwynd Hospital in just over three weeks.

The health authority said services will be interrupted from 7 am Tuesday until 8 am Wednesday.

Officials said the emergency room will be closed for more than 24 hours due to staffing challenges.

Despites Northern Health’s efforts to address staffing issues, it is the 19th time that the Chetwynd ER has been forced to close in 2025.

Northern Health is advising residents needing emergency care to call 911 to be transported to the nearest available facility.
