The Emergency Department at the Chetwynd Hospital was on diversion once again. The closure marks the fourth diversion of 2026 for the community.
Northern Health said that ER services were interrupted between 6:00pm on Tuesday to 8:00am Wednesday.
The health authority announced the closure on social media and on its new Emergency Department Statue webpage.
The chronic staffing shortages that have plagued Northern Health for the past five years, are once again being blamed for the closure.
The Emergency Department in Chetwynd was closed over 20 times last year.
