Cold temperatures and snow expected to hit the Peace Region, has moved maintenance work on the Taylor Bridge to Sunday.

Maintenance was scheduled to begin on Friday evening but temperatures that are expected to reach -26 degrees moved the work to Thursday.

But snow prevented welders from being able to work Thursday, so maintenance has now been moved to Sunday

Drivers are being warned to expect delays along the Taylor Bridge as the maintenance work gets underway.

Dawson Road Maintenance and DriveBC alerting motorists of the upcoming disruptions that are set to begin at 10:00 a.m. Sunday and continue until 5:00 p.m.

As the work gets underway, single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect between Big Ban Road and McMahon Drive.

Oversized loads are being advised to schedule routes accordingly in anticipation for delays, as they will need to wait until after 5:00 p.m. to cross the bridge.

Motorists are advised to watch for traffic control personnel.

The maintenance marks the second time this month that work has been carried out on the bridge, after upkeep was performed during similar hours on January 10, 2025.
