Motorists travelling on Highway 97 near Taylor can expect delays today as maintenance crews carry out work on the North Taylor Hill.

According to Dawson Road Maintenance, crews are working on both northbound and southbound lanes from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The maintenance work includes collecting and removing winter sand and other accumulated material along northbound lane barriers.

Crews are also washing spillways, drainage systems and barriers while conducting inspections of drainage infrastructure.

Dawson Road Maintenance spokesperson David Rhodes says temporary road patching and shoulder erosion repairs may also be completed if needed as part of the project.

Traffic control personnel are on site throughout the operation, and drivers should expect reduced speeds and minor delays while travelling through the work zone.

The work is part of ongoing highway maintenance aimed at improving roadway conditions and ensuring drainage systems continue to function properly along the busy corridor north of Taylor.

Motorists are being asked to use caution and follow directions from traffic control crews while passing through the area today.
