FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - A driver was taken to hospital and later arrested after a collision involving an alleged stolen vehicle and a tractor-trailer on Highway 97, near Fort St. John Saturday.
According to Christiaan Dreyer, Media Relations Officer with the Fort St. John RCMP, officers were called to the crash at approximately 10:24 a.m. on August 22.
It happened on the Alaska Highway near Forest Lawn Frontage Road between Fort St. John and Baldonnel.
Police say officers attended the scene and determined that a stolen car had collided with a tractor-trailer. The crash resulted in injuries to the driver of the car.
RCMP said the driver was arrested for possession of stolen property and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police added the individual was later released while the investigation into both the stolen vehicle and the collision continues.
Police have not announced any additional charges and have not released further details about what led to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
