The District of Tumbler Ridge has announced the temporary closure of the town’s Community Centre to resolve a heating issue.
The facility is anticipated to reopen on Friday, February 7th, 2025.
The closure affects all facilities within the community centre, including the daycare, fitness centre, curling rink, and library. It also serves as a warming centre for those in need of reprieve from the cold.
“If you need a place to warm up or charge your devices, please visit Town Hall,” wrote the district in a notice posted to its Facebook page.
They are also apologizing for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding. Residents are being asked to monitor the district’s social media pages and website for updates.
CJDC-TV reached out to Tumbler Ridge’s facilities department for more information, but did not receive a reply in time for publication.
