The Dawson Creek Fire Fighters Association has cancelled the Code Red Christmas Parade.

The parade adds to a growing list of events cancelled in Dawson Creek due to extreme weather conditions.

The parade was originally scheduled for December 20 but had been postponed until Sunday.

The forecast is calling for temperatures ranging between -26 and -38, forcing the association to cancel.

However, the Dawson Creek Fire Department is still hosting the Code Red Christmas Movie on Sunday.

Two free movies will be shown at Center Cinema MLT, beginning with The Polar Express at 5:30 pm, followed by National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at 7:15 pm.

The association will be accepting donations during the event for the St. Mark’s Foodbank.

Firefighters will be collecting toys, non-perishable items, and cash donations.
