Dawson Creek, B.C. - The City of Dawson Creek announcing changes to Chamberlain Nature Park in an effort to improve pedestrian safety.
Wooden guard posts have been installed at the north and east entrances of the park, a more visible way for visitors to find the designated access points, says city staff.
“The decision was made to keep vehicles away from walking trails and to protect the surrounding natural environment,” says Ryan Maclvor, general manager of community services for the City of Dawson Creek.
The city says further improvements are planned for the park, including new signage at the entrances and along trails to help visitors navigate the area.
Maclvor added that the city of Dawson Creek is aware that work on an adjacent private property has damaged a small number of trees in the park, and that they are working with the property owner to repair the damage.
