DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - The City of Dawson Creek will lower flags at all municipal facilities on Sunday, September 27, in recognition of Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day.
Flags will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset to honour police and peace officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The city is encouraging residents to take a moment to reflect on the courage, dedication and sacrifice of officers who have died while serving their communities.
The City of Dawson Creek also expressed its appreciation for the police and peace officers who continue to serve the community and help ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day is observed annually across Canada to remember officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties.
