The Dawson Creek RCMP returned a missing puppy to its owner after it was allegedly traded for drugs.
Mounties said a man came to the detachment alleging the gate of yard was left open and his two dogs were missing.
The man later located one of them but contacted the SPCA when he couldn’t find the second one.
The man was provided the name of a female who may have had the dog. Police then investigated two suspects, before demanding a relative of one of the suspects to return the dog.
The puppy was turned over to the police. They noted that there is no evidence to support the dog was stolen, and therefore, there are no grounds to lay charges.
Mounties added that the owner was thrilled to have his dog back.
