On Tuesday afternoon, a Ford F-350 was reported stolen in Beaverlodge. Within the hour, police allege that the truck was involved in a hit and run, near Demmitt, Alberta.
Mounties allege the vehicle fled the scene, but not before the driver was identified as a male from Dawson Creek.
Then around 2:00 am Wednesday, officers located the truck in Dawson Creek with 3 people inside. Once again, police allege the pick-up fled the scene. However, officers managed to deploy a spike belt, which deflated three of the tires.
The truck then drove through rural and residential areas of Dawson Creek for about an hour, before getting stuck in a gravel lot.
Police allege the three suspects fled on foot. One suspect was captured by a police dog; the other two were taken into custody a while later.
Badger remains in police custody pending his next scheduled court appearance.
