DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - The Dawson Creek Firefighters Charitable Society is helping students head back to school this fall through a donation to the South Peace Community Resource Society (SPCRS).

The organization has provided $1,000 worth of school supplies to support the SPCRS Backpack Drive, an initiative that helps ensure youth in the community have the materials they need for the upcoming school year.

The charitable society said supporting youth and helping them succeed is one of its core goals.

Firefighters say that every student should have the opportunity to begin the school year feeling prepared, confident and ready to learn.

The donation is part of a partnership between the firefighters’ charity and SPCRS, which provides programs and services for families throughout the South Peace region.
