A firefighter with the Dawson Creek Fire Department had to be airlifted to hospital, after being hit by a pickup truck Wednesday morning.
Police and the fire department were called to the scene around 7 am Wednesday, on Highway 97 South near Groundbirch.
When they arrived, they found a single vehicle rolled over in the ditch. Police say there was heavy fog in the area at the time.
Sources say the firefighter was hit by a pickup while on the highway near the scene.
The firefighter was rushed to Chetwynd hospital and then airlifted to Prince George. So far, there is no word on the severity of his injuries.
Police say road conditions and fog were to blame in both accidents. The highway was closed for most of the day as police investigated both scenes. It has since re-opened.
