DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - Students returning to classes in Dawson Creek this week will have access to additional classroom space at Crescent Park Elementary School following the completion of a new school addition.
The B.C. government says a 115-seat addition at Crescent Park is among a number of school projects opening across the province for the start of the 2026-27 school year.
The project is included in a list of 23 new schools, additions and seismic replacement projects opening this September.
According to the province, the projects will create space for approximately 4,700 students in communities throughout British Columbia.
The opening comes as students across School District 59 head back to the classroom following the summer break.
The provincial government said it continues to invest in school infrastructure to address student growth and improve learning spaces throughout B.C.
While much of Tuesday’s announcement focused on projects in larger urban centres, the Crescent Park Elementary expansion was the only Northeast B.C. project highlighted in the provincial backgrounder of schools opening this fall.
