DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - A Dawson Creek brewery is raising a glass to conservation.

Post & Row Brewing Co. has become the first craft brewery in Canada to join Ducks Unlimited Canada’s new Sip & Support program, launching a special-edition beer that will help fund wetland conservation projects.

The limited-edition Pintail Pilsner will see a portion of proceeds from every sale donated to Ducks Unlimited Canada between October and January.

According to the conservation organization, the program was developed to help Canada’s craft beverage industry contribute directly to wetland protection while educating customers about the importance of clean water.

Wetlands play a key role in filtering water, replenishing groundwater supplies, reducing flood impacts and supporting wildlife habitat, making them an important resource for communities and industries that depend on clean water.

“We’ve always believed good beer brings people together,” said Clay Drouin, president of Post & Row Brewing Co. “Every purchase helps support the wetlands and healthy watersheds that make great brewing possible.”

Ducks Unlimited Canada says the partnership comes as the organization prepares for its 40th annual fundraising dinner in Dawson Creek, an event it says reflects strong local support for habitat conservation.

Janine Massey, the organization’s chief marketing and communications officer, said the new partnership will help build on that support while connecting customers directly to conservation efforts.

Pintail Pilsner is available through the Post & Row taproom in Dawson Creek and at select liquor stores throughout the Peace Region, including Fort St. John, Chetwynd, Hudson’s Hope and Tumbler Ridge.
