DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Residents will have a chance to hear directly from candidates seeking a seat on Dawson Creek city council ahead of this fall’s municipal election.
A public council candidates forum is set for Thursday, September 24 at Co-op Mercer Hall inside the Ovintiv Events Centre. The event will be moderated by Rob Brown, who also moderated the city’s council forums in 2018 and 2022.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., giving attendees an opportunity to meet and speak with candidates before the forum begins at approximately 7 p.m.
The public can access Co-op Mercer Hall through the lower lobby doors of the Ovintiv Events Centre, next to the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre entrance.
Thirteen candidates are running for the six available council seats: Angela Healey, Colleen Bice,Gregg Apolonio, Amy Kaempf, Raistlin Van Spronsen, Barb Slowinksi, MIke Sudnik, Juanita Shields, Rob Atkinson, Karen Tom, Judy Kucharuk, Monica Rogers and Steven Reynolds.
The forum is expected to provide voters with an opportunity to hear candidates’ positions on key issues before casting their ballots in the October 17th municipal election.
