Fort St. John RCMP say that there has been a major drop crime across the city, in the month of April

In a written statement to city council, Sergeant Jaime Moffat said that crime stats were down ‘across the board.’

Incidents of break and enter to businesses fell by 50 percent – from eight to four. Break and enter to residences also fell from four to one in April, according to Moffat.

“Great work this month by frontline policing, particularly in recovering a stolen vehicle with armed suspects. Public safety was paramount and the members did an outstanding job effectively arresting 5 suspects involved. This matter is now before the courts,” said Moffat

The city’s Communication Manager said the city appreciates the works the RCMP is doing to keep the community safe.

Ryan Harvey pointed to the recent major weapons and drug bust as an example, that resulted in 33 arrests.
