Avalanche Canada has issued a warning to backcountry users concerning dangerous conditions in parts of the Peace Region.
With the rise in temperatures, the risk of human-triggered avalanches in the western part of Peace Region is listed as ‘considerable.’
Avalanche Canada said, “Continue to make conservative terrain choices while the storm snow settles and stabilizes and be careful with wind-loaded pockets, especially near ridge crests and rollovers.”
Backcountry users are being told to avoid alpine areas. There’s also a moderate risk of an avalanche in the treeline area as well.
