Incumbent Member of Parliament Bob Zimmer cruised to an easy victory in the riding of Prince George – Peace River – Northern Rockies Monday night.
Zimmer was elected for the 5th time with the strongest support he has ever received. Zimmer garnered 71.3 percent of the vote, finishing 26,873 votes ahead of the Liberal candidate Peter Njenga.
Speaking to supporters in Fort St. John on election night, Zimmer said, “we have never had such strong numbers. We are going back to Ottawa to keep working towards forming a majority government.”
“We put up a lot of our own signs which gave us a lot of opportunities to talk to people face to face. I really appreciate the support of the riding and I am so grateful that they are sending me back to Ottawa,” said Zimmer.
