Dawson Creek — The CJDC TV news team has been recognized with a nomination for the 2022 Radio Television Digital News Association’s West Region awards.
“We here at CJDC TV are extremely proud to be a finalist in the RTDNA awards! The work that the team puts in daily is second to none.,” said Amy Titley, General Manager, Bell Media BC Peace Region.
CJDC TV is being recognized for the story – “Inside The ICU.“ It’s a two-part a look at the overcrowded conditions in the Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of Northern B.C., due to mostly unvaccinated patients suffering from COVID-19.
CJDC TV was named as a finalist in the only category it entered a submission for: Investigative Excellence.
“We have a team of journalists just starting their careers, and a News Director that has the experience and talent that leads the team to produce content such as the “Inside the ICU story”. Michael and Emily-May worked non-stop on this piece and it shows.
CJDC TV has been nominated for the Investigative Excellence award, along with Global BC and the CBC.
“To be mentioned in the same category as Global BC and the CBC is humbling,” said Titley.
RTDNA Canada Awards honour the best journalists, programs, platforms, stations, and newsgathering organizations in audio, digital and video.
Titley said “Our team works extremely hard every day to provide our viewers and readers with the best journalism in our region. I am honoured to work with them daily and even more so that we have been nominated for such an award. The team should be as proud as I am, if not more.”
The regional award winners will be announced May 24.
