DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - Services at City Hall in Dawson Creek will temporarily move to the Dawson Creek Mall next week as the city begins work to address asbestos contamination and complete renovations at the municipal building.

The City of Dawson Creek says the temporary relocation will take effect on Monday, July 20, 2026. The new City Hall location will be situated inside the Dawson Creek Mall, to the right of Save-On-Foods.

City Hall will remain open at its current location until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17 before staff and services transition to the temporary site.

Residents will be able to access all regular municipal services at the mall location during normal business hours. Visitors are being directed to enter through the main mall entrance beside Save-On-Foods, where signage will be installed to help guide the public.

The temporary move was first announced last month as part of a project to address asbestos contamination within the current City Hall building and undertake renovations. The city says the work is necessary to create a safe and healthy facility for staff and residents.

Additional information about the relocation project is available through the City of Dawson Creek.
