A product of Chetwynd has been invited to the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase in Minnesota.

Cayden Lindstrom is one of eight players from BC to attend the showcase. The camp begins in Minneapolis on July 25.

The showcase features 11 games and is part of the selection process for the U20 World Junior Hockey Championship during the Christmas break, and some of the best prospects in the world have been invited.

Players from Canada, the United-States, Sweden, and Finland will attend this year’s showcase.

If Lindstrom makes the team, it would be his third time representing his country internationally. He won a gold medal at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and he also won a gold medal at the World U17 Hockey Challenge representing Team Canada White.

Lindstrom was drafted fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2024. He spent the last three seasons playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL. Lindstrom missed the whole 2024-2025 regular season due to back surgery, but he played seven playoff games, and three games in the Memorial Cup.

Lindstrom will be attending Michigan State University next year. He’s one of four players from Michigan State to attend the showcase.
