The Emergency Department at Chetwynd Hospital has closed Tuesday morning and is expected to reopen at 1 pm.
The service interruption was announced via social media. Northern Health has not given a reason for the closure this time.
The hospital in Chetwynd has seen the biggest drop in closures of any of the full-service hospitals in the region in the first six months of this year. The emergency room in Chetwynd has been closed 14 times over that period, compared to 39 in 2024.
Residents who need life-saving medical care were being asked to call 9-1-1 to be transported to the nearest available hospital.
