The Charlie Lake Fire Department responded to a fire at the Highway 97 weight scales overnight on Monday.
The fire happened on Highway 97 North, about 12 kilometres northwest of Fort St. John.
A photo shared on social media shows heavy smoke pouring from the building.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 1 am.
13 firefighters spent four hours bringing the blaze under control.
CJDC-TV News reached out to the Fort St. John RCMP to ask if this fire is connected to a string of arsons at Weight scales near Prince George.
Police said the fire is being investigated as being suspicious, but did not offer any more information.
