Charges laid in accident that killed Beaverlodge teen last September

Charges have been laid in connection with an accident that claimed the life of a teenager from Beaverlodge, last September.

A 16-year-old girl from Beaverlodge was pronounced dead at the scene after a single vehicle rollover on Township 712 at Range Road 82 on September 6th, 2025.

Police say 3 people were in a pickup truck at the time of the accident. After an investigation, Mounties allege the driver had been impaired at the time of the collision.

This Sunday, Beaverlodge RCMP arrested and charged Jason Bisson (21), a resident of Goodfare, Alta., with impaired driving causing death, operation of a motor vehicle causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

Bisson was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Feb. 4, 2026.

“Files like these are a sad reminder of the effects impaired driving can have on families and communities” said S/Sgt. Matthew Short, NCO I/C of Beaverlodge RCMP and Grande Prairie Rural RCMP. “Please take the time to consider alternate transportation options before going out and consuming alcohol.”
