There was strong reaction on social media after a Peace Region man was sentenced to house arrest, after pleading guilty to sexual interference involving a person under 16 years of age.
The mother of the girl involved told CJDC TV News, that her daughter was four years old at the time.
Many people online saying the sentence that Timothy Schlosser received from Judge Oliver Fleck was too lenient. CJDC TV News reached out to the BC Prosection Service to ask if the Crown planned to appeal the sentence.
“We are carefully reviewing the decision that was rendered on Cctober 3, 2025 by Judge Fleck,” said the Prosecution Service.
Schlosser was arrested in Fort St. John in January 2022. He was originally charged with sexual interference of a person under 16 and invitation to sexual touching involving a person under 16.
Judge Fleck handed Schlosser a conditional sentence of house arrest for 18 months. Schlosser also received 36 months probation and has to register as a sex offender for the next 20 years.
Judge Fleck has also allowed Schlosser to continue working during his house arrest sentence.
