It’s the news that local ski and snowboard enthusiasts have been waiting for, Bear Mountain Ski Hill will be opening this week for the season.
Organizers say the ski hill, just south of Dawson Creek, will be open on December 26th from noon to 6pm.
A team of volunteers were making snow at the beginning of the month, hoping to open by mid-December. But frigid temperatures that have gripped the region since December 5,th has delayed the opening.
Paul Gevatkoff, President of the Dawson Creek Ski and Recreation Association said. a staff orientation meeting is scheduled for Wednesday morning from 10am until noon.
