The BC Centre for Disease Control is warning the public about a new potential measles exposure location in Fort St. John.

Health officials said anyone who attended a private event at the Fort St. John Curling Club on November 2 may have been exposed to the virus.

The potential exposure happened between 4 pm and 9 pm.

This comes after the BC CDC issued eight other exposure locations in the city last week.

On Monday, Canada lost its measles elimination status. To regain it, measles transmission must end for at least 12 consecutive months.

According to the BC CDC, measles is still circulating in the Peace Region.
