A flurry of new possible measles exposure across the Peace Region continues. The BC Centre for Disease Control (BC CDC) is warning residents of Fort St. John and the surrounding area about four more possible exposures.

The BC CDC said that if you have visited the following locations, you may have been exposed to the highly contagious virus;

  • Olympus Cards And Collectibles - 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on November 12th
  • Walmart Supercentre - 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on November 14th
  • North Peace Leisure Pool - 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 14th
  • Fort St. John Hospital emergency room - 6:15 p.m. to 2:35 a.m. on November 14th

The virus spreads through close personal contact with an infected person and through the air, when an infected person coughs or sneezes

Officials continue to urge British Columbians to get vaccinated. They also say that misinformation is being spread online about the vaccine and is contributing to the rise in cases.
