The BC Centre for Disease Control has reported a potential measles exposure in Fort St. John.
The BC CDC said individuals may have been exposed to the virus if they visited the emergency room or the waiting room of the Fort St. John Hospital.
The possible exposure occurred on October 26, between 8:08 pm until 1:10 am the following morning.
Health officials advise anyone who may have been exposed to use the measles exposure risk assessment tool to determine the next steps.
The BC CDC said that measles is still circulating in both the South and North Peace regions. Two possible measles exposures occurred at the Dawson Creek Hospital on October 21 and then again on October 24.
Health officials confirmed 12 new cases in northeast BC in their weekly measles update on Thursday. That brings the total to 225 in the region so far this year.
