According to the BC Centre for Disease Control, the spread of measles continues to slow down across the province.
The BC CDC’s latest measles update showed no new reported cases since September 25, when only one new case was confirmed across the province.
Health officials said provincewide, the total number of confirmed cases stays at 268 this year. They said 196 cases were reported here across the Northern Health region.
Despite having 73 percent of cases, the spread has also slowed down in Northeast BC, with the last exposure location reported at the end of August.
This year, the BC CDC has yet to report any deaths associated with measles. The update showed that 88 percent of cases come from people not vaccinated against the virus.
