The BC Centre for Disease Control is reporting 17 new measle cases in British Columbia. Once again, all of the new cases have come from Northeast BC.

The new cases bring the total this year in the Northeast to 274. Almost 80 per cent of all cases across the province, have come from the Northeast this year.

There are 6 active cases of the measles in BC, all of which are located in the Northeast.

Officials continue to urge British Columbians to get vaccinated. They also say that misinformation is being spread online about the vaccine and is contributing to the rise in cases.
