The BC Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 11 new cases of the measles across the province, bringing the total to 282 this year.
The BC CDC said all 11 cases were reported in the Northern Health region, increasing the total there to 210.
Health officials said 197 cases were reported in Northeast BC, eight in the Northern interior and five in the Northwest.
The BC CDC’s latest update shows that nearly 70 percent of all measles cases have been recorded in Northeast BC.
Officials noted that 250 cases involved people who were not vaccinated against the virus.
